The best guides and incredible nature! We absolutely loved our tour!! Andrs was incredibly welcoming and a fantastic guide, knowledgeable and leading local conservation work - we took an evening tour and saw many birds, sting rays, a lobster, and an awesome sunset. Will do again the next time we are in Cancun! Tip: Bring cash because you will want to leave a tip! And get curious - your guides are locals and will answer your nature questions. Mangroves provide critical protection against hurricanes and a core ecosystem. Appreciate this special experience!

Beautiful scenic experience Very beautiful scenery and relaxing experience. I do wish they explained the proper paddle form at the start, but they helped as we went a long. The weather was very windy the day we went, but the guides contacted us prior to the start and allowed us to reschedule if we didn’t feel comfortable. Overall it was a good experience in a small group. I loved watching the sunset and seeing the animals.

Peaceful Lagoon Paradise Kayaking in the Cancun lagoon was an unforgettable experience and a perfect break from the busy hotel zone. Passing through the mangroves felt peaceful and almost surreal. Andres was knowledgeable and friendly, pointing out local wildlife and explaining the ecosystem, which made the experience even more meaningful.

Wonderful 2 hour experience If you are in Cancun and have not visited a mangrove before and would like to get in some calm relaxing exercise with a little adventure, this is for you. The mangroves are pristine, the water is clear and the whole experience is very calming as you paddle through the mangrove channels and explore the mangrove tree canopy overhead. I am sorry that I did not take my diving/snorkelling mask with me as there is also opportunity to snorkel during rest stops. The water is about 2-3 m deep at most and crystal clear so you will see fish and rays, apart from the birds in the trees. Although I am an experienced kayaker I still enjoyed the trip because our group was less than 10 and our 2 guides were very friendly and knowledgeable. So even if you have not kayaked before, you will easily manage. This excursion is a great addition to doing some scuba/ snorkeling, swimming in the cenotes and visiting the Mayan pyramids

Peaceful evening at the laguna Best experience of our stay at Cancun! It was our first time kayaking ever but due to the good instructions of our guide, everything went very smooth even it was very windy and low tide at the laguna. We learned a lot about the ecological system, animals, plants and enjoyed the peaceful and serene athmosphere. The guys there are cleaning the laguna every month and are doing a great job to preserve this beautiful place! If you are looking for alternative tourism, don‘t hesitate and book this unforgetable experience!

Why We Started Go Kayak Cancun

The Nichupté Lagoon has always been at the heart of Cancun—often overlooked.
We simply wanted more people to experience it and leave appreciating it as much as we do.

Good to Know Before You Paddle

Why choose a kayak tour in Laguna Nichupté?

Exploring Laguna Nichupté by kayak is one of the most peaceful ways to experience Cancun’s natural side. Unlike busy beaches and large boat tours, kayaking allows you to move quietly through the mangrove channels, giving you a better chance to observe local wildlife while respecting the ecosystem. Whether you join us at sunrise, during the morning, or at sunset, every tour is designed to help you connect with nature and discover a side of Cancun that many visitors never experience.

Is kayaking in Laguna Nichupté safe?

Yes. Laguna Nichupté is generally calm, making it a great place for beginners and families. Before every tour, we provide a safety briefing and basic paddling instructions. Our guides stay with the group throughout the experience, ensuring everyone feels comfortable and confident on the water.

Do I need kayaking experience?

No. This tour is suitable for all experience levels, even if it’s your first time kayaking. Before we head out, we’ll provide a brief introduction to basic paddling techniques and safety guidelines. No previous kayaking experience is required, but a basic level of physical fitness is recommended to paddle comfortably throughout the tour.

What happens in bad weather?

Your safety always comes first. We monitor weather conditions before every tour. Light rain usually doesn’t affect the experience, but if strong winds or severe weather make it unsafe to paddle, we’ll help you reschedule or provide a refund according to our cancellation policy.

Will I see wildlife?

Maybe you will, maybe you won’t—and that’s exactly how nature should be. We don’t visit a staged attraction or an aquarium. Every tour is a real outdoor experience, where the greatest reward is simply being present in this incredible ecosystem.

What should I bring?

Wear comfortable clothing that you don’t mind getting wet, along with a hat or cap. We provide drinking water, but we encourage you to bring a reusable water bottle if possible. If you’d like to bring your phone or camera, we recommend using a waterproof case to help protect your belongings while you’re on the water.

Is my booking secure?

Yes. All reservations are securely processed through FareHarbor, one of the world’s leading booking platforms for tours and outdoor experiences.

Where does the tour start?

Our meeting point is Marina Scuba Cancun, just across the street from Playa Langosta on the lagoon side. Simply search for Go Kayak Cancun on Google Maps for directions. You’ll find the kayaks next to the marina pool.

How early should I arrive?

Please arrive 20 minutes before your scheduled tour. This allows enough time for check-in, fitting your life jacket, and a brief safety briefing before departure. We leave on time so everyone enjoys the full experience while respecting the permitted operating hours in Laguna Nichupté.
