Good to Know Before You Paddle
Why choose a kayak tour in Laguna Nichupté?
Exploring Laguna Nichupté by kayak is one of the most peaceful ways to experience Cancun’s natural side. Unlike busy beaches and large boat tours, kayaking allows you to move quietly through the mangrove channels, giving you a better chance to observe local wildlife while respecting the ecosystem. Whether you join us at sunrise, during the morning, or at sunset, every tour is designed to help you connect with nature and discover a side of Cancun that many visitors never experience.
Is kayaking in Laguna Nichupté safe?
Yes. Laguna Nichupté is generally calm, making it a great place for beginners and families. Before every tour, we provide a safety briefing and basic paddling instructions. Our guides stay with the group throughout the experience, ensuring everyone feels comfortable and confident on the water.
Do I need kayaking experience?
No. This tour is suitable for all experience levels, even if it’s your first time kayaking. Before we head out, we’ll provide a brief introduction to basic paddling techniques and safety guidelines. No previous kayaking experience is required, but a basic level of physical fitness is recommended to paddle comfortably throughout the tour.
What happens in bad weather?
Your safety always comes first. We monitor weather conditions before every tour. Light rain usually doesn’t affect the experience, but if strong winds or severe weather make it unsafe to paddle, we’ll help you reschedule or provide a refund according to our cancellation policy.
Will I see wildlife?
Maybe you will, maybe you won’t—and that’s exactly how nature should be. We don’t visit a staged attraction or an aquarium. Every tour is a real outdoor experience, where the greatest reward is simply being present in this incredible ecosystem.
What should I bring?
Wear comfortable clothing that you don’t mind getting wet, along with a hat or cap. We provide drinking water, but we encourage you to bring a reusable water bottle if possible. If you’d like to bring your phone or camera, we recommend using a waterproof case to help protect your belongings while you’re on the water.
Is my booking secure?
Yes. All reservations are securely processed through FareHarbor, one of the world’s leading booking platforms for tours and outdoor experiences.
Where does the tour start?
Our meeting point is Marina Scuba Cancun, just across the street from Playa Langosta on the lagoon side. Simply search for Go Kayak Cancun on Google Maps for directions. You’ll find the kayaks next to the marina pool.
How early should I arrive?
Please arrive 20 minutes before your scheduled tour. This allows enough time for check-in, fitting your life jacket, and a brief safety briefing before departure. We leave on time so everyone enjoys the full experience while respecting the permitted operating hours in Laguna Nichupté.
